I’ve read the book, but I don’t know if I understand the cover design. It’s a beautiful image, but I don’t get the connection of a hand covered in multi-colored sprinkles with Frey’s story. Forgive my aesthetic ignorance. I’m a writer, not a designer. Any explanation would be great!
every time i found myself browsing an airport bookstore for a period of about 6 months, during which i traveled frequently, i noticed that each time my attention was drawn immediately to the cover of this book, found in every shop. eventually, i picked the book up, unable to resist its beauty any longer. i read the book, and found its content to be helpful in my ability to understand and relate to the life of a friend of my currently struggle with drugs himself. without the strong appeal of the cover, i would have never read the book, and wouldn’t have the insight that i now do – fabricated or not.
This is one of those covers where the image and the title have an odd connection. I like the green. It has a bit of a sickening feeling to it, which I like. I like the image because it’s as if the drugs have control of the person, but it’s also just…pretty.
Actually, the cover isn’t that freaky green color. I have the book, and it seems to me to be a lot less harsh, with more blue.
I really like this cover, and the book is very good as well.
WE are in English class and are having a disagreement about what is actually on the hand. Does anyone know for sure? It could be the difference of who gets a chocolate chip cookie.
i love this book though im im not done yet
and by mistake i read my friend leonard first it was so good i cried in the end when leonard decided to kill himself im so glad i went to camp and the girl showed me the book there both really good im probably his youngest fan
the cover picture kind a freaks me out at times. ill just glance at it, do a double take and pick it up and find myself just staring at the little sprinkles. i dont know if the cover is just wonderfully designed or if i have some strange obsession with sprinkles.
I guess you?ll have to ignore the Oprah?s Book Club stamp..

The hand is covered with what’s inside a pill capsule I believe, a drug reference.

The mint green in this image seems a bit HARSH. I hope it appears differntly in person. I can’t read the white text on the cover… MY EYES!

i thought the “sprinkles” were actually atoms..representing how broken down frey’s life was…

It’s a hand dipped in those little ice cream sprinkles—hope you get a cookie.
