In one sense, I’m annoyed that this cover is trying to do too much. The type that bleeds off the edge is, in itself, a great concept. Chopping the legibility of the title into chunks perfectly communicates the book’s concept. The die-cut of the man’s profile is extraneous.
At the same time, if there were ever a topic that merited a cover with too much going on at the same time, it’d be this one.
So I dunno.
Either way, the chopped title was a great solution.

Looks like maybe several concepts were forced into one. Or were there too many cooks spoiling the pot?

I saw this in the store, that die cut just kills it. This is all way too much to handle.

i disagree. i think it’s a brilliant cover. never seen anything like it.

i second that. i think the die cut lets the reader know that it’s not a clincial text. and the chopped title is a killer idea. i’m a fan.

D we need another “text floating on the sky” cover.
I like the chopped text, but i think it would have been cool just white on black.

I like they sky background, kinda references the kid with ADD daydreaming. The type is nice but I don’t care for the die cut at all. Seems like way to much was trying to be done with this cover. seems to take away rather than add to the design.

i’ve read the book, so i’m kinda biased. (it was f***ing GREAT!!!!) the cover makes more sense once you’ve read the novel. and the novel will pretty much rock your world.

I haven’t read the book, but I know a bit about ADD…
I have mixed feelings, the designer in me has alot of the same criticisms mentioned above, but another part of me says “the book is called Attention Deficate Disorcer, and my main complaint is there is to much going on, kind of ironic.” Maybe Stadnyk is alot smarter then we are givcing him credit for on this one.
Just a thought.

there’s a lot going on here, but isn’t that kind of the point? the novel is titled ‘ATTENTION. DEFICIT. DISORDER.’
seems to me that the cover design would logically reflect an A.D.D. theme.
i think Stadnyk did a clever job of putting it all together.
— Grenadine P., 2006-02-26 08:00:00
The book’s not really about the disorder itself…Listi claims that each word stands on its own rather than working together as the disorder (hence the periods)
the UK cover looks a lot cooler, though I don’t have a link handy.
not a bad read, too much google/copy/paste space fillers in my opinion…it gets in the way of otherwise good storytelling.

PS-looks like it should be a Nick Hornby cover.
