The photo itself is inspired. The rest, not so much.
Frankly, I would have expected something much zanier and playful for a book about Steve Martin.

Well, the book and Steve Martin as a person rather than a performer aren’t really zany at all. He’s always been a calculating sort who’s often talked about the bizarre nature of fame, so a stark photo of him fixed in the spotlight seems very appropriate.

The same photo was used as the cover to his second LP, A Wild and Crazy Guy.

Same Colors as the “we do book cover design” sticker. Funny.

It’s zanny and somber at the same time, kinda like Steve Martin.
