Strong and simple concept. At first I wanted this cover to be more illustrative — I wanted the concept to be taken further. A book about competitive psychology and game theory could lend itself to some wild interpretations. But this cover is a great advertisement for the content. My only complaint is due to the inevitable request from someone along the line to 'make the author's name bigger'. It's crampin' the titles style.
I've always liked this cover. It's an unusual solution and very effective. To solve this typographically could have been a visual nightmare, but Keenan seems to have pulled it off and maintained readability. Agree about the name up top, but it bugs me less because the overall concept is solid. What bugs me more is the little ass quote on the bottom. It's competing, yet not being heard at all;)
yeah love it. have to agree with Ian about the small quote. But usually the extra level of text hierarchy created by a quote is very nice.
i want to nudge the author's name up, or the title down. don't like how close the J drops to the C.
it's wonderful tho. feels like a stage.

one could say the author's name is COMPETING with the title...
