Contemporary Athletics and Ancient Greek Ideals

This just makes me laugh. It's a great illustration—simple and clear. But I'm not sure the tone fits the contents. Apparently this book is some pretty heavy stuff written by an American professor and philosopher. This would make a great editorial illustration, and even the title would be great for fictional satire, but it is out of place for a non-fiction book on philosophy. Maybe that is why I like it?

perfect. I've always loved this cover. Simple and done. I don't believe that serious works of philosophy and literature need to have a cover that bores you. This makes me want to read something I would otherwise have zero interest in.

I like this cover too, and don't find it out of place for its subject matter, though I do find it off-center for reasons that don't leap to mind, and the treatment of the author's name feels like a bit of an afterthought.

Perhaps the image HERE is more true to the original coloring. Sometimes Amazon's images are off.

The leading in the title really irritates me. I feel it's just a liiiiiittle bit too high, but not in a good, quirky way.

the black marks look like sunglasses in the thumbnail. I think it would look better if the marks looked like they were actually on the bust rather than looking like they were applied to the photo of the bust. I like the idea but not the execution
