i think it could be non-ugly if it had been executed with better type and more attention to detail…for example, it’s too bad they didn’t follow through with a tiny publisher’s logo on the lower right hand side of the “O.”

An eighth of an inch white space around the big O could have done wonders.

I think this is a great cover. Love the humor of it and for some reason the way the type is handled reminds me of Saul Bass. I do think that the corners seem a little awkward on the actual cover but on screen it looks great.

I really like this cover. The typography plays well within the design.

It could have very easily been mundane, but the visual tension created by the awkward spacing works to set it apart. Unexpected.
