John Gall comes correct, as per usual. I love his systematic stylings. The back cover is nice, too. Too bad I wasn’t able to find an image of it.

It might be by John Gall, but it looks like Dave Eggers. I’m starting to wonder if he hands out a style guide to everyone he works with. (which I would be totally okay with, btw)

I can see where you’d say that. Especially when compared to McSweeney’s #3 and #9. It’s funny tho, because John Gall seems to make a habit of putting boxes around his type, regardless. See: A General Theory of Love, and The Verificationist.

Love this, balanced with type and visual illustration!

Hmmm…I have no idea what this book is about. In the artwork I see that the horse is being given freedom and is being sent off. But a part of the horse wants to stay but it also wants to leave. Probably has nothing to do with anything but I can definitely see that in the artwork.

Dave Eggers said in a book jacket lecture a few weeks ago that the only reason he uses Garamond in every piece of design he does is because he uses the second oldest version of Quark available and that’s the only decent(ish) font on there.

this is a shitty cover, The little art piece is like… fuck, I dunno—Art for Arts Sake. All the little text and delicate little white frames… uuuhhhg sorry.
