A brilliant, multi-layered (pun) solution. Not only does the use of type reflect the “In-Between”ness of the title, it breaks the photos into a sequential series, taking you through the (presumably) main character’s aging process.

This is also one of the few times when I haven’t been annoyed by a semi-literal representation of the protagonist on the cover.

Quite nice and ghostly. The photos give this cover life beyond two dimensions. My only issue is on the top left, where the black cuts off. Was this intentional or a bad Amazon sample?

I really like the time-lapse and also how the images sort of funnel out. The book is great, too.

I suspect the black edge is intentional, conveying the idea that this was the torn edge of an old photograph.

I really like this cover, especially the blurry, soft-focus style of the bottom photo.

I love everything about this cover. I really like how the bottom photo is angled a bit possibly to show a change/transition in his life..

hmmm, not so sure. good concept, but, for me at least, a tad dull overall. can see this one being lost on bookstore shelves.

on the contrary, it stands out nicely. at least it did at the library.

just doesn’t seem resolved—feels like the comp that’s 70% complete. color, placement of imagery and croppings just don’t work for me. “To letterspace” or “Not to letterspace”, choose one please.
