The Business

For the month of November I am going to be participating in National Novel Writing Month by attempting to design one cover for participating authors every day - 30 covers in 30 days. The authors are randomly selected by the propietors of the NaNoWriMo project to have their synopsis/title designed around by yours truly. The point here is volume/output and not necessarily quality, but I'll do my best. This is probably a very foolish stunt on my part, and even more foolish to be turning it over to you dogs of war to critique! I won't pretend that these are going to be mindbogglingly good, as despite all appearances I have a life beyond graphic design, so i can only take about an hour a day on these.

Here's the first one. You can read about the story here on the author's Nanowrimo profile. I would have liked to spend more time on the type, but I've gotta crank out the next one right away!

Very nice. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

Cool idea... I look forward to seeing more of your designs. Please do post as many as you can. We'll (I'll) be gentle.

the type choice is not that convincing. looks like u really r in a hurry chris. plus the add up graphics separates the whole image, it's like combining cheese and peanut butter. it should atleast have the same texture as the rest of the wrestler. but anyways nice choice of the image.

can't wait to see the new designs.

I rather like the contrast of the harsh polygon leg and the bodies of the wreastles. I'm not sure if the lace and the boarder around it compliment the rest of the cover. If that pale brown-pink in the back continued...

But then you'd lose the dynamic of the leg outside the frame.

The dash of colour and the title font tie it all together as something out of the ordinary.

somehow, I love the folded paper leg?
dunno.

it just?
but not the font for the title or the placement?
can't say why but the leg is great....
it is a very mysterious sort of cover? It would make you want to open the book? I think.

So cool! Wish it was my cover...though it doesn't apply to my nanowrimo book
