The Interrogative Mood: A Novel?

Another one of the few, the proud, the brave: a title-less cover, this one actually making a lot of sense. Considering the contents – a string of surreal questions about the necessary (or not) things in our filled-to-the-brim lives – the minimalist treatment also makes perfect sense. Of course, it is a bit easy to toss a question mark about in order for someone to pick it up, but even the question mark itself is weighty and ponderous.

Amazing. Go Forner.

wow. love it.
nice elaboration on the concept Chris. But i have to say the actual ?-mark didn't strike me as 'ponderous' as in weighty-- like how it's sort of floating above his bottom hand. I know this is getting really into the details, but i think there can be some nice discussion of the concept within the details. For instance, the way he's holding it, it looks like it's sort of stuck in space-- not heavy and wanting to fall-- more like he is stuck on it, instead of it relying on his lifting. Which is perhaps a very subtle sort of physical gesture that is entirely helpful in conveying a concept-- that the question always exists on it's own, and that the thinking/handler is stuck on the question/introspection, not the other way around.

LOVE the publishing pun "a novel?" haha it's perfect! adds a "?" to the title (sub) that reinforces the concept and is a nice little joke to all of us folks who --apparently-- agonize over the phrase.

Brave, indeed. It works as an art object (a poster hanging in a slightly cool college professor's office?), but it's not exactly provocative or contextual... tantamount to a light bulb above the head. It's aloof, and so is the title, and I've never heard of the author... given all that, I can't say that I'd pick it up and bother to find out what it's all about.
