i’m kinda surprised he didn’t even try to make them look different. a simple change in typeface choice or background colour would’ve gave each of those something unique to stand out with.
Chip rips himself off in a less effective way then the original in almost every respect—the pink more daring and interesting, the typography tighter the first time—and it’s “brilliant”? Really?
No, it’s “branding”.

Gotta defend myself here, kiddies. The original color scheme was completely different, and the author nixed it. He also nearly nixed the entire design, so I was thrilled to see this much cross the finish line. However, you are all welcome to submit your superior ideas. I look forward to seeing them.

This cover reminds me of the J.D Salinger or Vonnegut covers. You could see a Robert Hughes book across the room and know it. Brilliant
