“One man’s quest to become the world’s greatest air guitarist.” The guitar is die cut from the front cover… unfortunately that makes the cover prone to tearing, a couple of copies here at the bookstore are already torn. Would’ve been nice if they could have printed on transparent plastic, but that might have been prohibitively expensive.
Is there some kind of pun in it being designed by a Gibson?

I love the sky in the guitar concept but everything else seems trendy and kinda boring. And what’s up with the stars on the pants?
Godawful is the word that leaps to mind. So much couldv’e been done with the “air guitar” concept, that the fairly lousy sky image (looking like the designer grabbed the first one he looked for) only just begins to suggest what a missed opportunity this is.

Okay, so the stars on the pants are slightly overrated and the sky in the guitar isn’t perfect, and the die-cut design does make the cover prone to tearing. But I think what’s so genius about this cover is the trendy spray-painted image on top of such a natural canvas and the fancy border around the words in a delicate script stating “One Man’s Wuest to Become the World’s Greatest Air guitarist.” I think all of these things fit quite nicely, to be honest and the cover is eye-catching in the least thanks to the bright blues and white!
