Just going off the descriptions on Amazon, I don’t follow what the splotch of dots has to do with the content.
Has anyone ready this that can explain it to me?
Regardless, the gold foil treatment on the black and white photograph makes for a really nice effect.

I guess spatters are “in” now?
Could be a shotgun blast, reviews of this book make some mention of the Black Hand, although it doesn’t appear to be a “mafia book.”
I like the title typeface quite a bit.

I also assumed they were coins.

This is probably overanalyzation, but when I saw the splotch of dots over the photo of what looks like an early-1900’s immigrant neighborhood, I figured that the dots represent individual people, and the big splotch is them coming together. Like a metaphor for the immigrant neighborhood.
But then again, the suggestion of coins also makes sense.
I quite like the typeface for the title. The flourishes are eye-catching. The type for the author’s name, however, is a bit blocky and looks as if someone got carried away with the leading adjustments.

I believe the coins signify the adage of the streets of america being paved with gold.

I think it respresents the plague of humanity, or just coins.
