A cover of our own doing. The book just came out, so I thought I’d post it up and see what people thought.
The paperclip is a running theme in the book’s content. The author compares the uselessness of a piece of wire to a purposeful paperclip. The cover is printed at 97% matte black, while the clip is at 100% with a gloss varnish. Hopefully the rest is at least somewhat self-explanatory.
Yeah that’s a bit odd. They told us it shouldn’t have one; the title is a statement, not a question. But then Amazon lists it has having one. No idea what’s going on there.
It seems a little strange how the o picks up in pretty much the same location on the second line but the W doesn’t. Seems like the second line W should be pushed off the page more for it to line up.. Otherwise it’s a nice design and flows we’ll.. on a side note I first read Marc Ecko at a glance..
I read the duplicity of the “W” as a hesitation—“w.. what now?” ... Which I think brilliantly echoes the sentiments of the type of person picking up a book like this—self-conscious and hessitant.
Would really like to see how the paperclip plays throughout the book. Any chance of getting supplementary images?

Saw this in an ad on the pages of Relevant’s magazine and it jumped right out at me. Beautifully done.

nicely done. moves the eye around that paperclip. if i were to do this the first thing that comes to mind is a ”?” mark…

Nice! Does any of the title wrap around the back or the spine?

Fenway Park.
I use it way too often.
Craig, I’d post some if I had any. I haven’t seen the finished product yet.

Was the covert “WOW” intentional?

Well executed – I like the minimal color palette and slick fonts.

...the ellipse seems a bit horsey and throws off the read of the title…
